Start-up, Struggles, and Today’s Standing
We Started our operation of making Areca Palm Plates on June 12, 2012 with the Inauguration by Pujya Swamiji…with four workers from Aanaikkatti with newly bought equipment in a fully refurbished building
In taking forward Swamiji’s Aagnai and in the spirit of my offerings to Swamiji, it was decided by me to pursue this without seeking any financial help from Swamiji’s Trust or Aim for Seva organization. Thus I am determined to pursue this by independently finding resources as an additional mode of service without constraining already existing commitments of Swamiji’s organization.
Though Pujya Swamiji asked me to lease of the land for this purpose for a period of 33 years, I had initially committed for 10 years. This was executed as a Legal document with the Trust. However in the light of the successful progression of the project, later on, I had requested Pujya Swamiji to extend t for 33 years which he has agreed in writing.

We started with 4 workers in 2012, and today we have grown up to a maximum of 20 to 25 people through working in the last 4 years. These are mainly tribal women (80%-85%) whose lifestyle changes are visible and prominent in their own words.
Today we have products that are made from Areca palm leaves, Banana fibre, Natural fibre made from cactus, Essential Oil, Ethnic Horticulture and several others. These are all made or processed here…..partly or completely..
